The FP6/Infrastructure project MNT-Europe
has led to the creation of a unique distributed platform for research
and development in the field of Micro and Nano Technologies (MNT),
based on the national facilities of Léti (France), CSEM (Switzerland),
IZM-M and IISB Fraunhofer (Germany), IMEC (Belgium) and Tyndall (Ireland)
research institutes.
The networking and Joint Research Activities performed during this
project have highlighted the strengths of this Alliance.
A follow-on project was started in January 2008 with
the main objectives being:
- Global
management of technical, strategic and commercial joint
activities
- Developing
exploitation of the platform with the aim of preparing
access to external further partners
- Optimization
of internal exchange/operation
